A polyphosphate anti-scale filter is an innovative water treatment device designed to prevent the buildup of scale in plumbing systems and appliances. This type of filter utilizes polyphosphate crystals, which work by sequestering minerals such as calcium and magnesium, commonly responsible for scale formation. 

How It Works 

1. **Polyphosphate Functionality**: Polyphosphates are compounds that can bond with calcium and magnesium ions present in hard water. 

When water passes through the filter, polyphosphate ions are released into the water stream, forming a protective barrier around the minerals. This prevents the minerals from crystallizing and forming scale on surfaces like pipes and heating elements. 

2. **5 Micron Filter**:  The filter includes a 5 micron filtration stage, which acts as a physical barrier to remove sediment, dirt, and other particulate matter from the water.
